Nanotechnology in Tissue Engineering

Tissue engineering is the process of increasing or replacing biological tissues by combining cells, engineering and materials methods, and appropriate biochemical and physicochemical factors. Tissue engineering entails the use of a scaffold to create novel viable tissue for a medical determination. While it was once considered a sub-field of biomaterials, it has grown in scope and importance to the point where it can now be considered a field in its own right.
